Two surprises for me:
The 2/1 women/men ratio holds true for both hidden tattoos (30% for women, 16.7% for men) and visible tattoos as well (8.5% for women and 4.1% for men).
A mere two generations ago, tattoos were largely reserved for criminals, sailors, and circus freaks. Today, 40% of Americans aged 26-40 have at least one tattoo.
